Daytrip to Fallon, where visitors can experience the Oasis of Nevada showcasing two of it's greatest assets: agriculture and the fine arts.
Fallon hosts the perfect stay vacation for northern Nevadans with the Annual Tractors & Truffles, a small-farm agriculture and arts event, Saturday, September 23rd featuring local Slanted Porch owner and chef, Steve Hernandez, chef and ice sculptor Mark Davis, Chef Director of the International Culinary School at the Art Institute of California, San Francisco, and other nationally-known chefs from around the country TBD.
The full-day event will include farm tours, wine tasting, gourmet dining, and a live music performance by the T-Sisters, a California band based in the creative hub of Oakland, Calif. The band embodies harmony. It’s in their blood, bones, and history. Erika, Rachel and Chloe have been singing and writing music together since childhood, and the lifetime of practice shows. Their sound represents a continuum of music, from traditional to pop influences, moments of breathtaking a cappella to swells of energetic indie Americana.
Highlighting the event is a gourmet, farm-fresh dinner with wine pairings. The dinner is served at historic Oats Park Art Center’s Outdoor Courtyard, and it will include locally-grown beef, chicken, lamb, produce and wine from northern Nevada farms and the region. The dinner is proceeded by a beer tasting with specialty brews from The Great Basin Brewing Company.
The event begins with breakfast and a tour of Rambling River Ranch, one of the establishing ranches in the valley, a stop at Lattin Farms’ Roadside Fruit and Vegetable Stand, and a tour of Churchill Vineyards and Frey Ranch Estate Distillery, Nevada’s only estate distillery.
